Savory Oatmeal with Eggs


Ingredients (Serves 1):

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats ($0.10)

  • 1 cup water or broth ($0.00)

  • 1 egg ($0.20)

  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese ($0.50)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: chopped green onions or spinach ($0.30)

Instructions:
Cook the oats in water or broth until creamy. In a separate pan, fry or poach the egg. Once the oatmeal is cooked, stir in cheese, season with salt and pepper, and top with the egg. Garnish with green onions or spinach if desired.
